The four who did not come.

Three of them had forgotten. One meant to call and did not. Nobody found out until the chair was empty.

The 12:00 slot on the right was freed at nine in the morning, not at noon.

Reminding is not confirming

One of these asks a question.

A reminder tells somebody about an appointment. A confirmation makes them decide — and somebody who has said yes turns up.

A reminder
"Your appointment is tomorrow at 4:30."
  • Read, and forgotten again by evening
  • Nothing comes back, so you learn nothing
  • The empty chair is a surprise
A confirmation
2 taps
"Can you make it?" — Yes / Can't make it
  • Saying yes is a small commitment, and it holds
  • Saying no frees the slot while it can still be filled
  • Silence is a signal too — you can call that one
What goes when

Four messages, and none of them from you.

on booking

Booked

What, when, with whom — and the two buttons. Most people answer within the hour.

day before

Still coming?

For anybody who has not answered yet. This is the one that frees slots.

1 hour before

See you shortly

With the address. Short, because at this point they are already leaving.

if it changes

Moved, or cancelled

Sent the moment you change it, so nobody arrives to a locked door.

All of them off until you switch them on, and each on its own template so the words are yours. Outside the 24-hour window they go as templates; inside it, as ordinary messages — which is cheaper and reads better.

Google Calendar

In the calendar you already keep.

Bookings appear there with the name and number on them, move when you move them, and disappear when they are cancelled. Nobody keeps two diaries.

  • One click to connect, through Google
  • Choose which calendar, if you keep several
  • Already booking through Calendly? That works too
